ISP Spotlight - Site Visit to GCREC-Balm
 The Gulf Coast Research and Education Center (GCREC) can trace its history as far back as the 1925 establishment of the Tomato Disease laboratory on 20 acres in Palmetto, Florida. Fast forward to present day and one will find that GCREC is now in a state of the art facility built in 2005 on 475 acres located in Balm, Florida of land donated to UF by the Hillsborough County government. The GCREC mission is to use their research and extension efforts to help ensure that Florida commodity growers stay competitive in the ever changing global market place.
